Tara attended her first yoga class in 2003 with Kristin Cooper in Wilmington, NC and immediately loved the blissful feelings of relaxation and mental clarity she received during Savasana. This ultimately led her to the beautiful beaches of Nosara, Costa Rica, where she received her 200-hour Interdisciplanary Yoga Certification with Don and Amba Stapleton at the Nosara Yoga Institute in 2006. She is currently on the path to receive her 500-hour teaching certificate. She has studied with Shiva Rea, Ashley Turner and Deon DeWet learning the arts of Vinyasa, Aromatherapy ad Thai Yoga Massage, respectively.
Tara hopes to share and spread compassion, inner contentment and empowerment that yoga offers to her students. Inspired by Kristin Cooper Gulak and Seane Corn, Tara enjoys taking her yoga "Off the Mat" and serving others less fortunate. She has traveled to India, Nicaragua and Colombia where she has raised funds for and volunteered at orphanages, children's homes and women's shelters.
Tara believes that being truly flexible means having an open heart and an adaptable mind as well as a limber body. "Like a tree, we have to find our roots. Only then can we bend in the wind."
