Sept. 28 ~ Kirtan
Throughout time, all cultures and traditions have used words and sound for healing, celebration and prayer. In India, kirtan is a sacred sound practice that uses ancient Sanskrit mantras which serve to quiet the mind, remove obstacles and bring us back to the center of our being.
Although kirtan involves music and call-and-response participation, the underlying art is not about musical ability or training, it is about the heart. Everyone can participate regardless of musical ability or cultural background. Donation.

THE ESSENTIAL CORE OF YOGA
The Next Step After Asana: Yoga As A Way Of Life
Sunday, Nov. 16, 9am - 1pm
Registration required, $45 in advance, $55 day of program
Join Christopher and the yogic community for this four hour seminar aimed at deepening your relationship to yoga both on and off the mat. While we all appreciate the benefits of our yoga practice, the next step is learning to apply the practices and principles to enrich our entire lives and the lives of those we love. Understanding the unique techniques of core yoga for your physical body -- breathing, stretching, strengthening and relaxation -- and the benefits that emerge, is only the first step.
Next, the practice of "Yoga As A Way Of Life" explores the possibility of lasting happiness, limitless strength and inner freedom that is the result of applying yoga practices and principles to your mental/emotional lives. Seeing how this is possible not only for ourselves, but for all others as well, is like breathing in cool, fresh mountain air into an overstimulated, hurry-up-slow-down lifestyle. What follows is a long, satisfying, letting go sigh that signals core release from somewhere deep inside.
In this seminar you will learn:
*On the Mat - The Core ABC's: Awareness, Breath, Core Activation
Core body breathing
Core joint mobilization
Core asanas emphasizing alignment, stretch, strength, release
Deep core relaxation
* Off the Mat - Yoga As A Way Of Life
Balancing three essential elements of daily life: Body, Mind, Energy
Clarifying the core confusion: Self & Other
